West Australian based bank, Bankwest, planned a pilot to trial wearable devices for payments, initially including the more prevalent form factors of wristbands and fobs.
However, after senior executives at Bankwest received our contactless payment rings, courtesy of Mastercard Australia, Bankwest asked us to get involved in the three-month trial, keen to test our contactless payment ring with their customers.
With just four weeks’ notice, we provided 200 rings across various sizes, developed a co-branded Bankwest portal and a bespoke fee structure.
Recipients of the Bankwest contactless payment ring were able to register via our platform which, facilitated by an auto-credit on activation, allowed the user to make a transaction immediately.
We supported the trial with customer support to all users, along with metrics reporting to allow Bankwest a full analytical view of the pilot.
